Speedway Racing

Speedway Racing has evolved into a very specialized form of competition. Modern speedway karts are equipped with sleek bodywork with specialized set-up for oval tracks. Competition levels are high, placing a premium on driver finesse. Spectators often witness the crossed-up driving style similar to World of Outlaws competition. Winning requires maintaining a fast line, and maximum engine r.p.m.'s while applying drafting and passing strategies, as are found in any type of oval racing. Drivers compete on both flat and banked oval tracks with lengths ranging from 1/10th to 1/4 mile. The most common sizes are 1/8th and 1/5th mile.
Speedway Class Structure
Class structure is segmented by age, engine type and weight variations. Four stroke categories for both stock and modified set-ups are offered. Competition age range for speedway racing is eight years old and up with top speeds for the senior classes approaching 60 miles-per-hour. Karts are equipped with fiberglass bodywork.
Speedway Race Format
Races are typically held in the evening where drivers get practice "hot laps," heat races and a feature race determining the over all winner
