Northland Tour Points Races

The Region 3 "Series" is a best 7 of 8 series. This will allow a racer to
miss a day of racing and still compete in the Series Champion points. Prize money
and trophies are awarded as part of the Region 3 "Series".

Region 3 "Regional" points championship will be a best 8 of 8. The I.K.F.
Region Champion Jackets and plaques are awarded based on the "Region 3 Regional"
points system as outlined in the I.K.F. 2007 Competition Regulations and
Technical Manual section 800.12.

You must compete in 7 of the 8 races to qualify for year end Series awards and banquet.

Hot Lap Order

We will run the hot laps in the same order as the race running order

Safety (for a complete set of rules see the IKF Tech Manual)

Helmets: recommended Snell 2005 or newer. Snell K98, Snell M2000, Snell SA2000, Sfi 31.2, Sfi 41.2 or newer standards.
Youth Helmet: for youth under the attained age of 12 must meet on of the above standards of 24.1.
Face shield - All helmets must provide full face coverage with integral face shield / visor. (Sunglasses or goggles not acceptable).
Helmet must be properly secured and in good condition. Must be secure with manufacturer's strap. Any addition of material for aerodynamics or other is prohibited unless certified by Snell or SFI.
Gloves: Required in all divisions.
Clothing: All drivers in open karts shall wear heavy weight vinyl material or approved heavy weight abrasion resistant material. Heavy weight parts - Full length or driving suits of one or two piece design - leather, heavy weight vinyl or approved heavyweight none abrasion resistant nylon.
Footwear: socks and high top shoes are REQUIRED. Shoes shall cover the ankle bone and be laced or buckled securely as designed.
Neck Collar: ALL drivers in ALL divisions must wear an un altered collar type neck brace designed for motor sports. This is required when on the track.
Chest Protector: All drivers in ALL KID Kart, Junior 1, Rookie and Cart classes must wear chest protector. Chest protector must be 20.1 SFI certified. This is a pretech item.
Long hair: Long hair is a safety tech item. Competitors with long hair will have to demonstrate a safety method of retaining their hair. Simply tucking into helmet or driving suit is NOT acceptable.

Safety Items:
The following must be in the trailer or pit area:

Fire Extinguisher - 1.5 lb min dry powder - rated A, B, & C fires. CARBON DIOXIDE TYPE NOT APPROVED.
First Aide Kit: Bandages, Aspirin, Burn medicine, Bug bite stuff, Bug spray.
