Northland Tour Newsletter - Entry Fees

Dear Northland Tour Race teams,
The most common questions that I am getting asked this spring are:
All of Northland Tour Region 3’s funds are held at the IKF office in California. The Dirt Series and Pavement Series’ funds are held in separate accounts. At the end of the season, all of the banquet trophies, prizes and checks are paid from the series’ fund. The series sponsorship money is also deposited in the same regional fund accounts. The sponsors support the series with advertising, trophies, the banquet and track expenses. We are not allowed to carry over any money into the next year. All funds return back to race teams.
On rain outs, the purse payout goes straight into the banquet fund. 100% of the purse goes to racers at the banquet.
A lot of race teams believe that IKF gets the biggest share of the entry fees. That is not correct. Let’s start with what IKF does get from the race teams. IKF receives membership fees, pit passes, sanctioning fees, Jacket Fund and its receipts break out as:
Sanctioning fee first; Northland Tour participates in the “Matching Funds Program” section 820 of the 2009 Competition Regulations and Technical Manual. The Series puts $2.00 in the Region 3 fund for the banquet and IKF matches the $2.00. So, from the IKF $3.00 Sanctioning Fee, IKF keeps $1.00. The wrist bands are competitively priced this year and $1.50 per entry for the regional championship jacket.
The membership fees support the organization. I would encourage each member to find out who your state governor, regional coordinator, speedway committee and tech committee members are. Make your voice be heard through these people.
Here are the details and percentages of the fees for the first entry fee.

Death and Taxes
The entry fee does not include the sales tax that tracks may have to collect this year. The tax amount will depend on how the track is incorporated and state/county tax rates. Example, $60 entry fee taxed at 6.5% will be $3.90 tax, for a total of $63.90
The Northland Tour pays out based on $20 per entry from the entry fee and on the number of entries on the class. Below is the schedule.

General Information
New Driver Profiles
We have redone the Driver Profile sheets. A single informational form covers both series. I have completed customization on the driver’s information form and posted it on the Northland Tour website. This enables easy downloading of a PDF form which can be filled out on the computer and enables the data to be quickly and directly uploaded. If you complete the form and email it to me, I will update or create your driver’s profile page. As always, if you race the series and submit a driver’s profile, the standard driver’s webpage is provided free of charge. This year I will customize your web page with extra pictures for $20.00; as time permits. Or for $50.00 per year, you can upload your own page design I will host. The amount storage on these pages is limited. If you are interested, email me abear@northlandtour.com
New Forum
We have added a forum to the website. Let me know if you want a new topic added. Once you have signed up, it takes 24 hours to activate your account before you can post messages.
